Beyond Errors: Glitch Art and the Aesthetics of Disruption

May 23, 2026, 7:00 PM

Ruse Art Gallery

As part of the festival program, a talk-lecture titled “Beyond Errors” will take place at the Ruse Art Gallery, featuring Stanka Tsonkova – Usha, Tanya Decheva, and Simeon Stefanov.

The event explores the concept of error not as failure, but as an opportunity for new perception and artistic inquiry. At the center of the discussion is glitch art—a movement that places defect, disruption, and the breakdown of the image at the core of its aesthetic.

The conversation will address the psychological and philosophical dimensions of errors, as well as specific artistic practices related to glitch—various types of visual distortion, techniques for intentionally “breaking” images, and the transformation of technological malfunction into an artistic gesture.

Special attention will also be given to the relationship between humans and machines. The blending of human and machine realities challenges the traditional view of technology as a subordinate tool and proposes a new way of thinking about interaction within the digital environment.

“Beyond Errors” invites the audience to see imperfection as a space for discovery, rather than something that needs to be corrected.
