Aleksandar Simov – Thoughts…
4 – 19 February 2025
OPENING: 4 February 2025, 6:00 PM
“21st Century – Crossroads of Hopes. The Trap of technology and the hope to Find Ourselves. The struggle of young people for a different beauty and the misunderstanding of the new normality by adults.
Colour and hope, the search for the beauty of the new normality is shown in my artworks with the thought of peace and love. My attempt with aggressive colors to recreate a new harmony, naive but true. Through aggression and a hint of a shout, I direct the viewer’s attention to the real things in life – Love, Compassion and Empathy.”
Arch. Aleksander Simov
Aleksander Simov’s exhibition “Thoughts…” seems like a strong expression of his inner world and a reaction to contemporary social and personal dilemmas. We see that he is not afraid to ask important questions about the material world, happiness and the meaning of life, doing so in a way that is both provocative and painfully sincere.
Through strong and symbolic images that include bright colours, deformations and the mixing of elements from different historical contexts, Simov builds a visual and emotional matrix that makes us think. These characteristics in his works not only challenge the viewer but also invite him to think about the deep questions that affect contemporary society and individuals.
This courage to resist clichés and show his true feelings towards society and its problems is very refreshing. Although his works are sometimes painfully extreme, there is also a sense of hope in them, thanks to his belief in goodness and positive human relationships.
