One Degree – Infinity of Meanings

The exhibition by Grisha Kubratov – “One Degree of the Ecliptic” is an event in the calendar of contemporary art, taking the viewer to a world where philosophy and painting meet.

The title is inspired by the astronomical term “ecliptic” – the path of the Sun across the sky, a symbol of cyclicality and constant change. One degree of this orbit is equal to 72 years – the time of a human life, considered as a moment in the great cosmic movement. Transformations, maturation and inner revelations are hidden in this “degree”.

Kubratov builds his compositions using rhythmic geometric shapes and saturated colors, which give the images an archetypal character. Among them appear snakes, birds, spirals and trees – sacred symbols aimed at questions of energy, the soul and the connection of man with the universe. The color scheme, reminiscent of icon painting, enhances the spiritual suggestion and turns each canvas into a space for contemplation.

The exhibition does not have a linear plot. It is presented as a journey along a circular path, in which each repetition is a new discovery, and each transformation – a revelation. This is precisely where the philosophical message of the project lies – human life is a small but significant fragment of the cosmic cycle, in which time is not just a line, but an eternal cycle.

“One Degree of the Ecliptic” establishes Grisha Kubratov as an author whose art stands on the border between abstraction and symbolism. His work provokes the viewer to search for new meanings and experience art as a personal spiritual journey.
