Snapshot from the Pink Planet – Solo Exhibition of Vladimir Paun-Vrapciu (Romania). Painting, Graphics, Video
July 1 – August 23, 2025
Opening: July 1, 6:00 PM
“Snapshot from the Pink Planet” is a solo exhibition by Romanian contemporary artist Vladimir Paun-Vrapciu, hosted by the Ruse Art Gallery. The exhibition is part of the international contemporary art program and includes painting, graphic works, and video art with a surreal, dreamlike aesthetic.
All elements are created as a result of a deeply personal creative process that combines utopia and resistance to fear, war and the alienation of the modern world.
“The Pink Planet” is an artistic universe built as a refuge – an island of imaginary happiness, created from a childhood memory, poetic allegory and traumatic reality. It carries the memory of the world from the poetry of Șterban Foarta, intertwined with the scale of Dante and the compassion of the Little Prince.
The works — both playful and painfully contemplative — evoke a grief deeply rooted in the present, but at the same time offer images of possible harmony, of a world beyond fear and consumption. The exhibition has been presented in Venice, Buzău and Bucharest and is visiting Bulgaria for the first time.
