THE RIVER – A Joint Exhibition of Artists from Ruse and Silistra

On 13 August 2026 at 5:30 PM, the Ruse Art Gallery will open “The River”, a joint exhibition organized by the Silistra Art Gallery, the Ruse Art Gallery, and the Association of Silistra Artists.

The exhibition was initiated to mark Danube Day and was first presented at the Silistra Art Gallery. Its presentation in Ruse continues this collaborative initiative, bringing together the two Danube cities through the language of contemporary visual art.

The theme of the river serves as a starting point for a wide range of artistic interpretations. Throughout the exhibited works, the river appears as a real landscape, a symbol of movement, time and memory, a place of encounter, and a source of personal reflection.

The exhibition features works by artists from Ruse and Silistra in a variety of media, including painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Each artwork offers a unique perspective on the theme, creating a visual dialogue that explores the river as an integral part of the life, culture, and identity of the Danube region.
