Exhibition dedicated to the International Danube Day

The Danube River is not only a natural feature and a geographic axis of the region, but also a space of memory, cultural exchange, and artistic inspiration. On the occasion of the International Danube Day, the Silistra Art Gallery presents an exhibition that brings together creative interpretations of the river by artists from Silistra and Ruse.

Organized by the Municipality of Silistra, the Silistra Art Gallery, the Ruse Art Gallery, and the Association of Artists – Silistra, the exhibition focuses on the Danube as part of the cultural identity of the Danube cities and as a lasting source of themes, images, and artistic explorations.

In the works presented, the river appears in its various dimensions – as a landscape and a natural force, as a witness to history, and as a space that connects people, places, and communities across borders and generations.

The exhibition offers a meeting with diverse artistic perspectives on one of Europe’s most significant rivers – a meeting in which personal experience and collective memory intertwine through the language of visual art.

The opening will take place on 25 June 2026 at 17:00 at the Silistra Art Gallery.
