Do you want to learn how to make a short film and try creating your own?
On October 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Art Gallery – Ruse will host a workshop titled “Practice for a Short Film” (Script Writing, Visual Construction, Film Analysis) led by Yordan Mihailovski. This one-day workshop is dedicated to two key aspects of filmmaking – crafting a script and visually constructing a story. Participants will also have the opportunity to watch and discuss films.
The workshop is for participants over 15 years of age and is free. Pre-registration is desirable (names, age, e-mail, telephone) at ruseartgallery@abv.bg.

Meeting and getting to know the participants, sharing favorite movies and stories.
11:00 – 12:00
Screenwriting, plot elements, character building.
12:00 – 13:00
Form groups, compose a story, share with other participants.
13:00 – 14:00
Lunch break
14:00 – 15:00
A lecture on camera genres/concepts/behaviors. Visual examples.
15:00 – 16:30
Group discussion, drawing shots, storyboarding a film, shooting locations, genres, ways of shooting.
Presenting participants’ ideas, telling stories through photos taken with a mobile device.
Idea content, questions, discussion.
16:30 – 17:00
Coffee break.

Film screening and discussion.
Yordan Mihailovski
He is a director and screenwriter. He studied cinematography and editing at the Central Film School in London and film direction at New Bulgarian University. His last two short films have tens of thousands of views online and have won several awards at world and Bulgarian festivals, including the Stoyan Kambarev Foundation’s “355 Award” and the Youth Jury Award from the Sofia Film Fest. Moderator of clubs under the “Kinoclub Sofia” project.
The event is part of the project of the Art Gallery – Ruse “Art – a provocation for social communication”, realizes with the financial support of the Municipality of Ruse, Program “Culture”.
