Light, Colour, and Atmosphere: Miniature Worlds for Big Stories
As part of the Contemporary Art Festival – Ruse 2026, the workshop “Space, Light, and Metaphor in Miniature Worlds” with Lea Vidakovic invited participants to explore how light and colour filters can transform atmosphere and tell stories without words.
By creating small paper gardens and stage-like compositions, each group experimented with different light sources, shadows, and colour filters, observing how changes in lighting affected the mood and perception of the scene. Photographing the compositions with mobile phones allowed participants to discover new compositional solutions and perspectives, focusing on the dynamics of light and space.
The workshop created a quiet, inspiring environment for experimentation and observation, where small objects became carriers of emotion and narrative through a careful exploration of light, colour, and atmosphere.
