“Psalms” by Roman Kisyov – Book Premiere at Ruse Art Gallery,
22 April 2026, 18:00
Ruse Art Gallery presents the book “Psalms” by Roman Kisyov (Ergo Publishing, Sofia, 2026) – an event that brings together poetry, spirituality, and living presence within a shared space.
“Psalms” includes 77 selected poems written over a period of 35 years. The book does not follow a chronological order but is structured through an internal, semantic composition that turns it into an autonomous artistic whole. Conceived as a poetic dramaturgy, it traces the spiritual path of the author – with its searches, doubts, revelations, and a persistent striving toward light.
In this context, Roman Kisyov’s poetry unfolds as a space of contemplation, where language moves beyond the purely aesthetic and approaches the realm of prayer. This is poetry that does not impose, but gently guides – quietly, consistently, and inward.
The event will be hosted by Krum Gergitsov – theatre scholar and literary critic, and will include a poetry reading by the author.
The presentation at Ruse Art Gallery places poetry in dialogue with the space of icons – a setting where image and word meet within a shared horizon of spirituality and contemplation. In this way, the event transcends the format of a conventional book premiere and becomes an experience.
Admission is free.
The publication is realized with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture.
