On March 14, 2026, at 6:00 PM, the official opening of the Exhibition-Competition for Contemporary Visual Arts “Dissonances” will take place at Ruse Art Gallery, followed by the announcement of the awarded artists and the prize-giving ceremony.

The initiative is presented within the framework of the International Festival March Music Days and is organized by Municipality of Ruse, the Union of Bulgarian Artists, and Ruse Art Gallery.

The current edition brings together 147 artists with a total of 245 works in the fields of painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, photography, video, and installation. Artists from across the country have taken part in the competition, reflecting the wide range of artistic approaches and contemporary visual practices in Bulgaria.

According to the regulations, the awarded works become part of the Gallery’s collection, thus enriching it with significant examples of contemporary Bulgarian art.

Since its first edition in 2024, the exhibition has established itself as a national platform for presenting current artistic developments. Each subsequent edition expands its scope, evolving into a space for professional dialogue, exchange of ideas, and engagement with the latest trends in contemporary visual arts in Bulgaria.
