Ruse Art Gallery presents the first edition of the exhibition-competition “…The Young Bulgarian Painting” – a forum that seeks to create a sustainable stage for young artists working with traditional painting forms. The event is an initiative of the Ruse artists Daniel Dyankov and Stoimir Ivanov, realized in partnership with the Union of Bulgarian Artists and the Ruse Art Gallery.
The debut edition brings together 32 artists under the age of 35, showcasing a diversity of styles and techniques – oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, tempera. The exhibition serves as a counterpoint to digital trends, highlighting the power and vitality of classical painting.
The jury – Daniel Dyankov, Stoimir Ivanov, Prof. Ivaylo Mirchev (UBA) and Georgi Georgiev (Ruse Art Gallery) – distinguished the participants, emphasizing at the opening that this is only the beginning. The featured artists represent just a fraction of young Bulgarian painting, and the ambition is for the competition to grow in the coming years, attracting more and more young creators.
Certificates of Recognition were awarded to Hristina Vutova and Yavora Zheleva, while the Grand Prize for Painting went to Teodora Georgieva.
With this initiative, Ruse sets the beginning of a new tradition, aiming to support young painters and give them visibility both nationally and internationally.
