Nejmi Murat
After many years of creative travels around the world, the famous sculptor Nejmi Murat returns to Bulgaria with his first solo exhibition, which was presented last night in the Art Gallery - Ruse.
The exhibition includes 34 sculptures in a variety of materials, including bronze, marble, basalt, and granite, as well as pastel drawings. This exhibition is an unmissable journey through the life and work of this remarkable Bulgarian artist. The sculptures and drawings reflect the artist's strong emotional connection to the world. A game with shapes, light, and materials powerfully reveals the rich life and creative path of Nejmi Murat, who passed through Bulgaria, Turkey, and the USA.
"I am organizing my first exhibition in 30 years. I'm going away and starting over again." The creator states emphatically that his hometown of Slivo Pole attracts him and fills him with peace. Since 2017, he has lived between Ruse, Istanbul, and Bursa with his wife Kezban Murat by his side.
"I feel it, I'm more emotional and I love nature," says Murat about his creative process. "I look for the meaning of life in the simple things. Capturing them and being able to transfer them into a drawing or into art makes me the happiest person.”
