Stela Lie – “At Home” – The Poetics of the Everyday

16 May – 15 June 2026

Opening: 16 May 2026, 4:00 PM

Art Gallery – Ruse

The exhibition “At Home” by Stela Lie transforms seemingly ordinary objects from the domestic environment into carriers of personal memory and emotional meaning. Through drawing and a delicate visual language, the artist explores the home not merely as a physical space, but as an inner world where reality and memory constantly intertwine.

In the works, objects function as a kind of “actors,” bearing stories and traces of lived experience. They construct an intimate portrait of the artist’s personal universe, in which everyday details acquire symbolic weight. The exhibition has a retrospective character, revisiting images from childhood, the family environment, and the process of identity formation through memory.

A defining feature of the project is its стремеж toward order and systematization – a kind of visual “dictionary” of images, reminiscent of a taxonomic approach to the world. Within this carefully constructed system, the drawings create connections among themselves, forming a fragmented yet coherent narrative in which individual elements gradually reveal deeper emotional layers.

With its poetic sensitivity and attention to detail, “At Home” offers a contemplative experience in which the simplicity of everyday life becomes a space for reflection, and familiar objects reveal their hidden emotional and symbolic depth.
