Presentation of the project “The Paper” – Meeting-discussion with Nedko Nedkov

Within the framework of the Contemporary Art Festival – Ruse 2025, Art Gallery – Ruse is pleased to present a meeting-discussion with the artist Nedko Nedkov.

Nedkov is the director of the Art Gallery in Dobrich and an active figure in the field of graphics and paper art. Over the years, he has created and developed a number of initiatives related to experimental work with paper. He is the author of a number of solo exhibitions and the winner of prestigious awards, including awards from the International Exhibition of Paper Art (Sofia), the Biennial of Small Forms (Pleven), and the Graphic Forum in Stara Zagora.

The “Paper” project presents paper not simply as a carrier of an image, but as a full-fledged visual language. Nedkov will talk about his experience with hand casting, processing and building images in which matter is not a background, but an essence.

The event aims not only to present a project, but to provoke a discussion about matter as a carrier of an idea – and about the possibility of contemporary art drawing strength from traditional techniques, refracted through a new perspective.

The event is for everyone interested in graphics, handmade paper, visual arts, experimental approaches and contemporary thinking.
