Meeting with the artists from the creative residency “Ruse – past and future, urban dreams and aspirations”
May 13, 6:00 PM
The Ruse Art Gallery invites you to a conversation with the five participants in the international project “Ruse – Past and Future, Urban Dreams and Visions.”
Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the project brings together contemporary artists from Bulgaria, Romania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia for a creative residency dedicated to urban memory, identity, and visions for the future of Ruse.
The residency explores the relationship between people and the urban environment – its stories, layers, emotions, and memory. Inspired by personal and collective experiences, the artists interpret Ruse through art, text, sound, and image, offering new perspectives on familiar city spaces.
The outcomes of their work will be presented in an exhibition during “Night of Museums”, when Ruse will transform into a stage for dreams, visual interpretations, and “urban reveries.”
The audience will have the opportunity to meet:
Lachezar Boyadjiev – artist and curator of the project (Bulgaria)
Ina Valentinova (Bulgaria)
Olivia Mihaltianu (Romania)
Fatmir Mustafa (Kosovo)
Gjorgje Jovanovik (North Macedonia)
In an informal atmosphere, the artists will share what inspires them in Ruse, what themes they explore in their work, and how the urban environment becomes a stage for personal and collective dreams and visions.
Free entry.
