The project “Rescue Restoration of Movable Cultural Properties from the Fund of the Art Gallery – Ruse” received financial support from the Ministry of Culture

With well-defined development motives and clearly outlined goals, the Art Gallery – Ruse received funding from a competition session for targeted projects in the field of movable cultural heritage, museums, and art galleries organized by the Ministry of Culture.

The main objective of the project is to restore and maintain the condition of works from the gallery’s collection and present them in exhibitions. A total of 16 paintings from the gallery’s collection will undergo restoration and conservation, overseen by Senior Assistant Professor Dr. Silvia Varadinova-Papadaki from the National Academy of Arts, Department of Restoration. The selection of these works was based on their significant deterioration.

Another important goal of the project is to promote the visual art stored in the Art Gallery – Ruse’s collection. Through the conservation activities, the restored paintings will once again be accessible to the public. What distinguished the Art Gallery – Ruse project and earned it the highest number of points was its focus on “popularization through online access to unexhibited works and an online exhibition.”

The project, titled “Rescue Restoration of Movable Cultural Properties from the Fund of the Art Gallery – Ruse,” is set to begin in December 2024 and conclude in June 2025. Media partners for the project include Arena Media, Utro newspaper, RTV – Ruse, Ruse Info, Bryag newspaper, and Radio “Ruse.”

“THIS PROJECT WAS IMPLEMENTED WITH THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE.”
